A memorial gathering honoring the life of Albert Edward McBroom, 90, of Beaumont will be held on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 2-4:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. Edward was born August 28, 1925 in Standard, Louisiana to Albert and Lela Susan (Wise) McBroom and passed away March 23, 2016 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
A graduate of Burkeville High School in 1943, he enlisted in the US Navy and served our country during WWII. He retired as a supervisor with Coca Cola and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Edward enjoyed fishing, hunting and time spent outdoors.
He is survived by a his daughter, Deborah Woodward of Beaumont; son, Ronnie McBroom of Beaumont; step-daughter, Becky Colville and husband, Ed of Lindale, Texas; step-son, Michael Chambless and wife, Susan of McKinney, Texas; 2 grandchildren, Melissa Ashworth of Las Vegas and Cody Woodward of Beaumont; and one great-grandchild, Cadence Ashworth of Las Vegas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Dan McBroom.
