Albert Gregory Thomas III

Greg Thomas, 71, of Orange, died, Sunday, November 25, 2007, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 29, 2007, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Reverend Rob Fisher will officiate. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be 5-9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Greg was born October 19, 1936, in Orange, the son of Albert Gregory Thomas Jr. and Clyde McGuire Thomas.

Greg Thomas was a lifetime member of the Orange Boating Club, USS Orlick Association. He was an avid Orange historian, he loved his dogs, bike riding, reading and listening to music.

Greg retired from the Goodyear Beaumont Chemical Plant after 40 years as a LIMS Administrator.

He is survived by his wife Rosa Narducci Thomas; children, Theresa T. Harrison and husband Mark of Houston, Albert G. Thomas IV and wife Ann of Austin, Karen Thomas of Casa Grande, AZ, Leigh C. Stiles and husband David of Beaumont, Todd Gregory Thomas of Pflugerville and Adam Reed Thomas and wife Tiffany Huang of Union City, CA; grandchildren, Kristalene Smith, Eric and 2nd Lt. Brian Derickson, Albert G. ?Greg? Thomas V and Bryce Thomas, Sharena and James Cotellesse, Katherine and Shawna Hiu, Rayleigh and Rayce Stiles and Adam Thomas; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Toby and Ayden; sister, Kitty Mae Powers, brothers, Gene Lamar Thomas and wife Marie, John Terry Thomas and wife Peggy, his 102 year old aunt Gertrude Childers and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Greg?s grandsons and sons in law. Honorary pallbearers will be John B. McGee and other grandchildren.

Greg and I rode to work several years. Greg would always use his CB name of "Cold-start" after using the IBM computor. I lost track of Greg after I retired in 1991. He was a friend and a co-worker. I had a great love for my Uncle Greg and will miss him dearly. I have many, many fond memories of his wit and love during my childhood years. Those memories will stay with me all my life.
