Alma F. Robins

Alma F. Robins, 87, of Orange, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011, at The Meadows in Orange.

Mrs. Robins was born in Charleston, West Virginia on March 27, 1923, the daughter of Charles Stonewall Barnett and Ada Partlow Barnett. She was a homemaker and an active member of St. Paul?s Episcopal Church in Orange.

For many years, she wrote Story Time for the Beaumont Enterprise. She was a longtime volunteer at Baptist Hospital in Orange and was an enthusiastic fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

Preceded in death by her husband, Walter Stewart ?Stew? Robins and son Chuck Robins, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Ronnie Theriot of Orange; son, William M. Robins of Mountain Home, Arkansas; son and daughter-in-law, John S. and Angela Robins of Beaumont.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, Loretta Gomez, Bill Theriot, Korey Hester, David Clark, Gene Buford, Misty Robins and her great grandchildren, Taylor and Brennan Theriot.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Private services will be held at a later date.

We miss Alma!! ---What a special, dear, sweet lady, who loved her Lord and her fellowfolks, especially St. Paul's Episcopal and American Cancer Society friends. A special lady, I first met Alma when we had children in school at the same time. Later when she started the Red Hat Group. Most recently as she and my mother-in-law were residents at the Meadows together. Rest in peace, Alma. I'll miss you.##imported-begin##Melba Hudson##imported-end##
