Anita Ann “Meme” Haustetter, 81, of Ivanhoe was born May 30, 1937 in Cransfill Gap, TX and passed away June 14, 2018 in Houston, TX. A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel with Reverend James Boykin officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Interment will follow in Magnolia, Cemetery.
MeMe had resided in Ivanhoe, Texas for the past 22 years and was a former resident of Houston. She was raised in the Lutheran Church and was retired as a sales associate in the Garden Center of the Woodville WalMart. It was a position she dearly loved. She took great pride in caring for the plants and sharing her love of plants with her customers.
In addition to her love of gardening, she loved the years she worked in the “Premie” Nursery of St. Joseph Hospital while living in Houston. MeMe was a great cook and a passionate baker. Her Dream Pie and Banana Pudding were two of her many memorable recipes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Fields and Wilhelmina Evelyn (Johnson) Yocham; husband, James Haustetter; son, James Albert Holder; sisters, Odessa Allard and Jurdis Clark; and granddaughters, Kimberly Ann Guidry and Rebecca Lyons.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Jo Ann Boykin and husband, Nolan of Lumberton, TX, William Holder and wife, Gwen of Oakdale, LA, Charles Holder and wife, Louise of Coldspring, TX, Cheryl Ann Clawson and husband, Billy of Gatesville, TX, Debra Ann Sogard and husband, Eric of Bay St. Louis, MS, David Holder and wife, D’Ann of Ivanhoe, TX, Mark Holder of Ivanhoe, TX; 22 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She is also survived by two brothers, Eugene Fields Yocham, Jr., and Lynn Kay Yocham; and sister, Linda Hirsch.
