Annis Aileen Mooney, 89, of Vidor, TX, passed away on April 22, 2021, at, St. Elizabeth Hospital, in Beaumont.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 25, 2021, at Claybar Kelley Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. A Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. by Deacon Stephen Sellers.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 26, 2021, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor, TX. Officiating will be Father Paul Sumler. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery in Vidor, TX.
Born in Beaumont, TX, on February 6, 1932, she was the daughter of Edgar Levi Chapman and Verta Marie (Wallis) Chapman. Aileen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was adored by her family. She was a devoted mother and loved spending time with all of her family and her beloved dog, Nellie. Aileen was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor, TX. She also enjoyed the hunt of finding the most unique items while going to estate sales and collecting antiques. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Mooney, Jr.; parents, Edgar Levi Chapman and Verta Marie (Wallis) Chapman; son, Joseph “Joe Pat” Patrick Mooney; siblings, Mavis Brumley, Opal Gray, and Helen Stanton.
She is survived by her children, Robert “Bob” Lee Mooney, III and wife Margaret of Vidor, TX, Pamela Sue Sellers of Vidor, TX, Vicki Hawthorn and husband Dennis of Vidor, TX, John Brady Mooney and wife Melinda of Baton Rouge, LA, and Annette Mooney of Vidor, TX; grandchildren, Crystal Mooney of Vidor, TX, Glenn E. Sellers, Jr. and wife Melissa of Beaumont, TX, Mark B. Sellers of Vidor, TX, Gina Simpson and husband Deron of Orangefield, TX, Katrina Rosson and husband Ryan of Beaumont, TX, Lisa Finley and husband Brandon of Magnolia, TX, D.J. Hawthorn and wife Heather of Vidor, TX, Brad Mooney and wife Sarah of Montgomery, AL, Gary Mooney of Baton Rouge, LA, Stephanie Nugen and husband Jeff of Pflugerville, TX, and Christopher Smith of Hutto, TX; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Glenn E. Sellers, Jr., Mark Sellers, DJ Hawthorn, Christopher Smith, Brad Mooney, and Gary Mooney.
