Anthony Augustine, age 77, passed away, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at his home in Dover, TN. A gathering of friends and family will be held 5:00 – 8:00 PM Friday, May 10 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. A graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont, officiated by Mr. Joe Barina of Ridgewood Church of Christ, as well as family and friends.
Mr. Augustine was born October 28, 1935 in Beaumont, TX, son of Anthony and Bertha Augustine. He was a proud member of the Beaumont High School Purples, class of '53 and attended Lamar University, earning a degree in Engineering. He moved to Colorado where he worked and enjoyed cross-country skiing. After moving back to Texas, he worked in administrative positions for both the City of Port Arthur and the City of Beaumont. He held several state level offices for the Texas Municipalities Water Districts until his retirement in 1999. He moved to Tennessee in 2007, where he resided until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Minchew Augustine; his daughter, Cassie Reed, son-in-law, John and grandchildren, Taylour, Baylee, and Charlie Reed, all of Indian Mound, TN; his son, Corbin Reynolds, daughter-in-law, Debbie and grandchildren, Annie Marie, Andrew and Thomas, all of Millington, TN, a host of friends, classmates and church family members.
