Funeral services for Arthur Lee Garza, 69, of Lumberton, TX will be Saturday, August 9, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home Chapel. John Davis of Ridgewood Church of Christ will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Garza, Jacob Garza, Cory Garza, Isidro Carrillo, Derald Werner and John Goodman. Honorary pallbearers will be Dominick Carlin, Tito Carlin, Ray Tyrone, Ronney Gonzales and Mike Williams. After the chapel service, a private, family graveside service will be held in Loeb/Leatherwood Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday, August 8, between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Garza was born February 27, 1939 in Bessmay, TX to Adolphe and Bridgett Garza and passed away on August 6, 2008 in his home, surrounded by his family. He was a fun-loving patriarch, who loved to hunt and cook. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army artillery who loved his God, his family, and his country.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Myra Lee Reese, brothers, Adolphe and Barney Garza and sisters, Mary Gonzales and Dottie Gallion. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Willette Garza; daughter, Renea Garza Josey and husband, Jimmy, of Houma, LA, son by choice, John Miller and wife, Debbie, of Concord, NH, daughter by choice, Cindy Miller of Lumberton; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother, Ernest Lee Garza of Silsbee, and sisters, Cindy Tyrone and husband, Ray, of Lumberton, Lydia Garza Kelly, of Lumberton, and Gloria Williams of Broken Arrow, OK.
