Artie Reed

Artie Reed, 75, of Bridge City, died Friday, October 12, 2007, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2007, at Second Baptist Church in Bridge City, with the Reverend Mel Ervin, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born on September 15, 1932, in Buffalo, Mrs. Reed was the daughter of Charles William and Vera Mae Hardin Castles.

She was a sales representative for Avon with 26 years of service and was an active member of Second Baptist Church in Bridge City.

Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Frances Castles Waters; brothers, Samuel F. Castles, Campbell Castles and Harvey Castles. Mrs. Reed is survived by her husband, Travis Reed of Bridge City; daughters, F. Arlene Perez and her husband, Chaz, of Spring, Elaine Smith/Galvan and her husband, John, of Lumberton; grandsons, David Smith, Seth Smith, Adam Perez; step granddaughter, Angelic Perez; brother, Harlan Castles and his wife, Heloise, of Smithville.

Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be David Smith, Seth Smith, Adam Perez, Chaz Perez, John Galvan and Vu Nguyen.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Moore, Mike Reed, Joe Elam, Jerry Chesson, Bill Kiihnl and Bill Nickum.
