Barbara Ann Ashworth

Barbara Ann Ashworth, 70, of Orange, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m.Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Claybar Funeral Home temporary location at 1408 Park Avenue in Orange with Reverend Jeff Bell officiating.

Entombment will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be from 5 -7 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at the funeral home.

Barbara was born October 27, 1937 in Rayne, Louisiana to John Whitney and Evelyn Milligan Laughlin.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Barbara is survived by her close friend and companion, Prentice Edward Ashworth, Sr., sons, Prentice Edward Ashworth, Jr. of Orange and Roger Glenn Ashworth and wife Astrid of Laguna Niguel, California, and daughter Charlotte Ann Ashworth – Sharpe and husband Mark of Charleston, South Carolina, three grandchildren, Camryn Sharpe, Andre Ashworth and Anthony Ashworth. She is also survived by a sister, Francis Gayle Stokey.

A special thanks goes to Edward for all his love and care he showed to his mother, and to the doctors at M.D. Anderson for the care provided during her long illness.
