Barbara June McGill

Barbara McGill, 75, of Sugar Land, Texas, died May 22, 2008 at Memorial Herman Hospital in Sugar Land.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 25, at 3:30 p.m., at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Terry Wright of First Baptist Church in Vidor. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 25, 2008, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Barbara was born July 8, 1932, in Shelby Co., Texas. She was the daughter of Charlie F. and Kate Goodson Jackson. Throughout her life, Barbara was known as an animal lover. She worked as an Administrative Assistant, a teacher in Sweeny, TX and also worked for Chase Manhattan Bank in Houston for five years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. McGill; parents, Kate and Charles F.

Jackson; sisters, Ione Wood and Nell Moore and one brother, Charles Larry "Butch" Jackson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lori McGill, of Sugar Land; sisters, Sandy Parkhurst of Orange, Billie "Sister" Grindol, of Lake Charles; brothers, Olan Jackson of Temple, J.W. Jackson of Beaumont and Alan Wayne "Nicky" Jackson, of Orange.

Serving as pallbearers are Bill Vyoral, Austin Vyoral, Ronnie McCall, Nicky Jackson, Ray Riddell, and Leslie Proske. Honorary pallbearers are Olan Jackson and J.W. Jackson.

For those who wish to make a memorial contribution instead of flowers, may do so to the ASPCA.

B.J. will be missed by so many, including us. She was always so pleasant and had a friendly smile for everybody.
