Barbara McConathy Allen

A celebration of the life of Barbara McConathy Allen, 69, of Beaumont will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church in Beaumont. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Cemetery. A gathering of friends and family will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.

Barbara was born May 3, 1941 in Beaumont, Texas to Robert and Nell McConathy and passed away on December 12, 2010 at her residence. A lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a faithful member of the choir and Cornerstone Sunday School Class.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Nelson Allen of Beaumont; son, David Allen of Beaumont; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Jeff Martin of Bevil Oaks; grandchildren, Christopher and Hannah Martin; and brother, Dr. Robin McConathy and wife, Mary of Salida, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Marshall McConathy, Jr.
