Bee McFarlane

"Bee" McFarlane passed away on November 17, 2008, in Orange. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 20, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the North Orange Baptist Church with Rev. Scott McIntosh officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. before the service at the church.

Mrs. McFarlane was born in Breaux Bridge, LA. on March 13, 1924, to Walter and Evelyn Champagne Thibodeaux and moved to Port Arthur at age six weeks. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended LaSalle University. She moved to Orange in 1979 and was employed by Dupont Sabine River Works for 32 years and was Paymaster the last 5 years of her employment. She was also a member of the North Orange Baptist Church and sang in the choir.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husbands, James G. Naylor and Johnny McFarlane; her son, James D Naylor and her brother, Walter Thibodeaux. "Bee" is survived by her stepsons, Donald McFarlane and Johnny McFarlane and her nieces and nephews, Denise White, Linda Scott, Celeste Ivy, Chet Dupuis and John Scott.

Pallbearers will be Art Thibodeaux, Marshall Thibodeaux, David Cox, Walter Cox, Sam Street and Billy Smith.

Bee helped me dress for my wedding in 1964. She took me to the church and also served punch at the reception. I loved her dearly. The last time I saw Bee, she was on one of her many trips with her friends from her church. They were passing through Yakima, WA and she called me and I went to the restaurant where they were eating and had a great visit with her. Bee was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. When the Thibodeaux Cousin Reunions were held, she always brought the most food and probably enjoyed them more than the rest of us.
