Betty Jane Britnell, 73, of Bridge City, died Monday, October 27, 2008, at The Meadows in Orange, Texas.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 1, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City with the Reverend Jeff Bell, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, Pt. Acres, officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
Visitation will be Friday, October 31 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.
Betty was born March 4, 1935, in Port Arthur, Texas to Henry Arnie Woodson and Pearl Swain Woodson. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Bridge City; she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and her family was her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin B. Britnell, Sr. and son, Calvin "Benny" Britnell, Jr.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law; Evelyn and Steve Simmons of Spring, Nancy and Edward Sonnier of Orangefield, Jane & Eric Diehl of Bullard, son and daughter-in-law; Roger & Melanie Britnell of Bridge City and a sister; Joy Clark and husband, Bill, of Effie, LA.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
