Betty Jane Lindsey

Betty Jane Lindsey, 79, of Orange, Texas died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Deacon Eddie Blankenstein. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home, with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.

Born in New Iberia, Louisiana on July 21, 1930, Betty was the daughter of Martha Theresa Labbe and Clet Pierre Bernard. She worked as an RN at Frances Ann Lutcher Hospital and later at Firestone until her retirement. She loved her family and enjoyed crafts, cooking, sewing, and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, and a great-granddaughter.

Betty is survived by her husband of 57 years, H.B. "Curley" Lindsey of Orange; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Thomas Lee of Orange, Carolyn and Roy Barfield of Orange, Anita and Ron Lake of Orange, Elizabeth and John Blackstock of Lumberton; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Gaston "Bobby" Bernard; and sister, Martha "Tookie" Blankenstein.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Lindsey Thomas Lee, James Michael Simon, Robert Allen Barfield, Timothy Burton Barfield, Derrick Paul McGalin, Duston Bernard McGalin, and Christopher "Keko" McGalin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jaxson Reed Blackstock, U.B. Samuel, Bobby Bernard, and Erin Lee Godina.
