James W. "Bill" Williford, 80, of Orange, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

He was born on March 31, 1928, in Carrollton, Mississippi, the son of William Hamilton Williford and Gladys Johnson Williford Knight.

Bill retired from IBM where he was a Field Engineer, was a U.S. Air Force veteran, enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an Astros fan.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Hamilton Williford, Jr., Bill is survived by his wife, Joyce L. Williford of Orange; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Julie Williford; granddaughter, Laney Williford, all of Austin; sister, Sissie Culpepper of Inverness, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Liz Williford of Memphis, Tennessee; and his mother-in-law, Catherine Hoyt of Orange.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of

Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory.
