Blanche Collins

Blanche Rigmaiden Collins, 94, of Mauriceville, passed away Monday, February 14, 2011, at her home.

Friends are invited to join the family for a reception and meal at noon on Saturday, February 26, 2011, at the home of Mrs. Collins, 8875 Hwy. 12, Orange, Texas 77632. A memorial service will follow at 1:30 p.m., also at the home.

Born in Oreta, Louisiana on January 16, 1917, Blanche was the daughter of Alfred and Monty Foster Rigmaiden. She and her husband were the owners and operators of Coastal Electric Company in Orange.

Preceded in death by her husband, Thadd Collins, Blanche is survived by her sons, Thadd A. Collins of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Ted C. Collins and his wife, Cindy of Moss Hill; daughters, Arlene Garney of Mauriceville, Charlene Stark and her husband, Jim of Buna, Doris E. Collins of Santa Rosa, California and Frances Collins of Mauriceville.

She is also survived by her brothers, Shelby Rigmaiden and Thomas Rigmaiden; sisters, Dimp Wicher, Sherrel Oliphant and Janice Rigmaiden; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

The family has asked that no flowers be sent. For those who wish, memorials may be directed to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church in Mauriceville, P.O. Box 56, Mauriceville, Texas 77626.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Claybar Haven of Rest Crematory.
