Brenda King, 77, of Beaumont, passed away on May 7, 2018, in Beaumont.

A graveside service will be 3:00p.m., Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Sour Lake.

Visitation will be from 1:00pm-2:00pm, Wednesday at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.

Born in Sour Lake, Texas, on October 12, 1940, she was the daughter of Stanley Ray and Margaret (Ingersoll) Ray. She was born and raised in Sour Lake and graduated as the Valedictorian of Sour Lake High School. She was a wonderful mom who stayed home to raise her 3 children she later worked as an attendance clerk at Central High School. Brenda loved the Astros and would keep a score book for every game. She was of Methodist faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Charles “Hoot” King; daughter, Kayla King; and brother, LeLand Ray.

Brenda is survived by her children, Rev. Kevin King and his wife, Pam of Winnie, Texas, Kristi Pintsch and her husband, Kevin of Maypearl, Texas and Kasey King and his wife, Laura of Humble, Texas; six grandchildren, Kris King and his wife, Stacey of Arvada, Colorado, Kayla King of Boston, Massachusetts, Michael DeMary and his wife, Julie, Tricia DeMary, Konnor King and Khloe King; and great-grandchildren, Eliza DeMary and Sawyer Williams; sister, Sandra Burrell and husband, Eugene; brother, Carey Ray and wife, Joni; and sister-in-law, Vickie Ray.
