Burl Wayne Mays

Burl Wayne Mays, 54, of Orange, died Sunday, July 8, 2007, at home with family at his side.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Reverend Robert Dailey, Pastor, of Source of Life Ministries, Beaumont will be officiating. Interment will follow at Orange Forest Lawn in Orange.

Visitation will be 5:00-10:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Mays was born October 13, 1952, in Jasper, Texas to Harold Warren and Dorothy Marie Jordan Mays.

Mr. Mays was a lifelong resident of Orange and spent ten years in Austin. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 126.

Burl was a previous member of Local Pipefitters 195 and a current member of the Austin Local Pipefitters 286. He was a member of Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin.

Mr. Mays was preceded in death by his father, Harold Warren Mays Sr. and son Casey Kyle Mays.

He is survived by his wife Page Mays, mother Dorothy Mays, mother in law Hammie Long; daughter Rachel Mays ?Hollier, sons Thomas Daigle and Matthew Daigle; grandson Jacob Hollier; brother Harold Mays, Jr. and wife Jackie of Bridge City, sisters Sybil Hanten and husband Tom of Orange and Sandy Reeves and husband Ron of Buna.

Surviving him also are nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and numerous family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be the members of Masonic Lodge 126.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Mays, Tom Hanten, Thomas Daigle, Matthew Daigle, Lewis Long Jr. and James Gray.
