Calvin Harvey

Calvin Elmer Harvey, 84, of Bridge City passed away March 1, 2012, at St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Funeral Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at First Baptist Church Bridge City with Reverend Bob Boone and Reverend Tommy McRight officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, at the church.

Born in Kinder, Louisiana on August 30, 1927, Calvin was the son of Charles E. and Zella Mae Bolles Harvey. He served in the U.S. Army. Calvin was a loving husband and father. He lived as an example to all of what it means to be a servant of God. He loved Jesus and had a daily, living relationship with him. He worked for thirty-seven years as a pipefitter at Texaco. He will be remembered for his love of his family, his church, and his garden.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Sheryl Parr, three brothers and three sisters, Calvin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bobbie Harvey; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Richard Schur of Bridge City; and son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Vickie Harvey of Austin. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Jessica Schur, Melissa Schur, Megan Stanley, Shae Harvey, Ty Harvey, Shana Parr; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Stonebreaker, Landon Moody, Carson Parr; sister, Dorothy Benoit of West Lake, Louisiana; and brother, George Harvey of Bridge City.

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Bridge City, 200 West Round Bunch Road, Bridge City, Texas 77611.

Arrangements are held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
