Carol Stervinou Talbert

Carol Stervinou Talbert, 88, of Port Arthur, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at Gulf Healthcare in Port Arthur.

A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2011, at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. Officiating will be Reverend Leo Anderson.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Abbeyville, Louisiana on December 25, 1922, Mrs. Talbert was the daughter of Lilly Mae Vaden and William O. Wagner. She worked as a secretary at DuPont Sabine River Works for 25 years. She was a member of the Mental Health Association, Orange Intercessors, and Park Avenue Methodist Church.

Family and friends will always remember her as an incredible, loving person. She always cared for others above herself. Mrs. Talbert will always be remembered by her family as the very best mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother anyone could be blessed with.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Charles Stervinou; and her second husband, Woodrow Talbert.

Mrs. Talbert is survived by her daughters, Ruth Camerera and husband Anthony of Port Arthur, Lesa Douga of Orange; granddaughter, Cynthia Vaden Theriot and husband Van of Port Neches; and great-grandchildren, Eric, Raney, Sara, and Alesa.
