Carroll Donald Murphy, 71, of Beaumont passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at his home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. today at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel. Brother Scott Newell of Voth Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Haven of Rest Cemetery

A gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Murphy was born May 4, 1938 in Helbig, TX to Edward and Angelina Tallina Murphy. For many years he worked with his brother at Murphy's Upholstery and Refinishing Shop on Gulf Street and after retiring he worked from home where he enjoyed gardening and loved tinkering with Snapper Mowers.

He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Joyce Murphy of Beaumont; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Mary Murphy of Lumberton, Robby and Christi Murphy of Nederland, Paul and Jenny Murphy of Sour Lake, Shaun and Megan Murphy of Destin, FL, John and Candace Perkins Murphy of Lumberton, Clint Murphy of Beaumont, Patrick and Heather Murphy of Silsbee and daughter, Ithaca Perkins Murphy of Beaumont. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jessica, Wesley, Josh, Meagan, Ryan, Angie, James, Airiel and Autumn; great grandchildren, Emily and Clara and brothers, George Murphy and James Murphy.
