Charles Chuck Salisbury

Memorial services for Charles "Chuck" Salisbury, 75, of Beaumont, will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Salisbury was born June 23, 1932 in Rochester, NY to Frederick and Marjorie Salisbury and passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on April 7, 2008.

He fought a difficult and valiant battle with cancer that ended his mortal life early, but his eternal life continues in heaven. Mr. Salisbury was a talented woodworker as well as an artist. He was also an avid sailor who even built his on sail boat. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, president of the Woodcarvers Club, and president of Southeast Texas Art Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was very patriotic.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of twenty-two years, Joan Salisbury; daughter, Cynthia Salisbury Harland and husband Billie of Vidor, son, Douglas Salisbury of Beaumont, son, Charles Grady Salisbury and wife, Angela of Fort Hood, TX, daughter, Jackie Sutherland and husband, Randy of Arkansas, and step-daughters Karen Neild and husband, Tommy of Beaumont and Beci Amy of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Thomas Neild, Heather Rose, Annie-Lauren Howell, Billie Charles Harland, Tiffany Salisbury, Taylor Neild, Frederick Harland, Allie-Brooke Neild. Charles Salisbury, and Ty Neild; three great-grandchildren, Emily Neild, Steward Neild, and Kaydee Jones; and brother Jim Salisbury and wife Leiloni of Dallas, TX.

The family extends a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Birdwell and staff at Texas Oncology and the staff at M.D. Anderson. In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may make donations to the Calvary Baptist Church Missions Fund, 3650 Dowlen Rd., Beaumont, TX, 77706-7202.

Our condolences to all of Chuck's family, most of whom we in the north have never had the opportunity to meet. I do remember Aunt Margie and Uncle Freddy, and the two boys, Chuckie and Jimmy. Hard to believe that Chuck was 75! Time has sure flown by. W##imported-begin##BJ Wahl##imported-end##
