Charlie Melvin Ravell

Charlie, 61, a lifelong resident of Orange, passed away Thursday September 20, 2007 at Baptist Hospital in Orange.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday September 23, 2007 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Orange.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ravell was born January 25, 1946 in Orange. He was a chief engineer for KBTV channel 4 news, a member of the NRA, the Texas Association of Broadcast Communications and The Pioneer Club of the Society of Broadcast Engineers.

Mr. Ravell was preceded in death by his mother, Ardathe Bland and is survived by his good friend, Jeannie Ravell; son and daughter-in-law, Charlie Ravell, Jr. and Holly of Corpus Christi; son, Tommy Ravell of Orange and granddaughter, Madison Ravell.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be KBTV channel 4 employees.

I know the station will never be the same with out Charlie trying to get your attention when you pass his office. Charlie was one of our first customers when starting the communication tower business in 1981. After more than 25 years, he remained a loyal friend and always full of fun and laughter.
