Claude Martinez

Funeral services for Claude Martinez, 91, of Beaumont will be held on Wednesday, January 8, at 2:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel with Reverend Brent Lambert, pastor of Central City Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation for friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.

Claude was born on Aug. 20, 1922 in Houston, TX and died January 2, 2014 at Harbor Hospice. He was a lifelong resident of Beaumont and retired from Lamar University in 1992. Claude was a faithful member of Central City Baptist Church of Beaumont where he served as a Deacon and choir member. Claude was a faithful servant.

He will be remembered for his faithfulness to the Lord and his giving spirit of generosity to family and friends. Claude was an active member until the Lord called him home.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Henley Martinez and grandsons, Andrew Paredez, III and Brian Trapp.

He is survived by his children, Faith Marie Paredes of Lufkin, TX, Judy Doucette and husband, Burt, of Montgomery, TX.; 2 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Delores Hernandez and Ofelia Cook of Beaumont, brothers, Joe A. Martinez of Beaumont; P.S. Martinez of Groves, Connie Gonzales and Terry Gonzales of Houston. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Lamento mucho la pérdida de su ser amado. Estoy segura que está pasando por un tiempo muy difícil ya que la muerte de un ser querido deja un gran vacío en el corazón. Algo que me ayudó mucho a mi es el consuelo que da la palabra de Dios, La Biblia. Si tiene una Biblia, le invito a que busque los textos de Isaías 25: 8, Juan 5:28, 29, Revelación 21; 3,4 y Hechos 24: 15. Ahí vera que se nos da la bella esperanza de la resurrección. Esto nos deja saber que en un futuro, según estos textos, hemos de poder volver a ver a nuestros seres queridos nuevamente, incluyendo a su ser amado! ¿Se puede imaginar el gozo que tendremos?
