Clifton "Stan" Garrison, 63, of Jasper, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at his home.

Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Umbenhaur of First Presbyterian Church in Orange.

Visitation will also be Friday, beginning at 5:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Garrison was born on December 19, 1945, in Spokane, Washington. He was born the son of James and Ouida Garrison. Mr. Garrison enjoyed hunting and fishing, working in his garden and also liked collecting American Indian artifacts and learning Spanish.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, James and Ann Garrison of Jasper; daughters, Selena Romero Smith of Beaumont, Sarah Romero Moreland and her husband Murray of Orange; grandchildren, Chris Myers, Kay Kay Myers, Makennah Moreland, Ty Moreland; sister, Sandy Harvey of Jasper; brother, Jay Garrison and his wife Virginia of Orangefield; and numerous other extended family members.

Stan and I graduated together. The only contact I had with him afterward was a phone call when we were all trying to get together for a class reunion.
