Cynthia Miller Walker Phillips

Funeral services for Cynthia "Cindy" Miller Walker Phillips, 49, of Lumberton, will be Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Claybar Kelley-Watkins Chapel with interment to follow at Claybar Haven of Rest Cemetery. There will be a gathering of family and friends in Wednesday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home

Cindy was born May 8, 1960 in Cameron, LA to Alvin Joseph and Allie Joyce Miller and passed away on August 2, 2009 after a battle with cervical cancer. She was a long-time resident of China and enjoyed spending time with children and the elderly. She was employed by A-1 Agencies in Beaumont where she was contracted to the surrounding area residents to sit with elderly and terminally ill people. She grew to know them and their families and loved them all. Cindy was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, family member and friend.

She was preceded in death by brother, Anthony R. Bourque; granddaughter, Juanita Nuckols; son, Jonathan Walker, and stepfather, Joseph Baker Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory is the love of her life, Dexter Suggs of Galveston; parents, Joyce Baker of Lumberton TX and Alvin & Julie Miller of Iowa LA; brothers and sisters, Paul D. Miller and wife, Lisa of Vidor TX.; Mary Lou Campbell of Lumberton TX, and Joseph Baker Jr. of Navasota TX; children, Regina Walker of Lumberton TX, Amanda Walker of Portsmouth VA, and Joseph Walker of Dilley TX; step children, Yalanda Snider and husband, Ricky of Vidor TX; Juanita Walker of Vidor TX; Christopher McLynn of Evadale TX; Jeremiah McLynn and wife, Theressa of Vidor TX; grandchildren, Richard Nuckols Jr. of Lumberton TX; Annabelle Mabry of Vidor TX; Brenna and Rhianna Matthews of Texarkana AR; Cole and Kloie Richardson of Lumberton TX; Victoria and Hailey Henry of Port Arthur TX; Siara Walker of Texarkana TX; Ricky Snider, Jr. and wife, Chelsey of Vidor TX, and Wade Hampton of Tyler, TX. She is also survived by several who called her mom, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Her pallbearers are Richard Nuckols Sr. of Katy, Ricky Snider of Vidor, Scott Cloud of Orange, Steven Bourque of Winnie, Brian Henry of Beaumont, Justin Richardson of Lumberton, Ronnie Fontenot of China, and Paul J. Miller of Vidor. Cindy touched the lives of everyone she met and will be loved and missed by all.
