Dane Feher, 71, of Groves passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 at his home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. Officiating will be Brother Tim Hanley of Lamplighter Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home in Beaumont.
Dane grew up in Orange, TX, and graduated from Lutcher Stark High School before joining the Beaumont Fire Department where he faithfully served for 32 years before retiring as Captain. A childhood athlete, Dane loved sports and never missed a Dallas Cowboys game. He was a member of Lamplighter Baptist Church, served as a Deacon, and taught Sunday school.
Dane was married to the love of his life, Leta Feher, for 43 years, and nothing mattered more to him than his family. He surrounded himself with loved ones and took immense pride in their accomplishments. Dane never met a stranger and was beloved by all. He was a friend, mentor, and guiding light to everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. He is missed. He is loved.
He was preceded in death by parents, Matrew and Catherine Feher and is survived by his wife, Leta I. Feher and children, Gary and Karen Stinson of Spring; Debbie and Robert Green of Port Arthur; Cheryl and Steve Shuff of Groves, and Dana Woods of Memphis, TN. He is also survived by his sister and niece, Deidra and Andi Coody; grandchildren, Erica and Roland Ratcliff; Jesse and Kim Stinson; Jacob Stinson; Stephen, Robert and Kyndle Shuff; Rachel and Haley Martin; Ashley and Crystal Shepherd; and five great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jesse Stinson, Jacob Stinson, Stephen Shuff, Robbie Shuff, Hunter Hanratty, John Randall, Hunter Plauche and Sean Culpepper.
