Daniel Mack "Dan" Dickerson, 86, a one and only original, was born March 16, 1926 in Merryville, LA to John Joseph and Effie McDonald Dickerson and passed away May 17, 2012 in Groves, TX.

Daniel was a long-time resident of Lumberton and a four year resident of Beaumont prior to living in Groves. Mr. Dickerson served as a US Army Military Policeman in the Rhineland/European Theatre during WWII and retired as a maintenance supervisor from Dupont.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, May 21, 2012 at The Apostolic Church in Beaumont, officiated by Pastor Jonathan Elms and Reverend Marvin Cole. The committal service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Merryville Cemetery, Merryville, LA. A gathering of friends and family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home.

Mr. Dickerson is survived by his wife, Trudy Henderson Dickerson; son, Dennis Ray Dickerson; daughter, Tyanna Herford and son, Daniel Mack Dickerson, Jr.; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Katie Aline Jones Dickerson; his parents; his sisters, Dolores, Penny and Carmelete and his brother, Olen.
