Daniel Sherman Jake Jacobs

Daniel Sherman ?Jake? Jacobs, 70, of Orange, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Orange.

Born in Fields, Louisiana on December 23, 1940, Daniel was the son of Cecil and Maggie McPherson Jacobs. He was a Production Operator at Bayer and a member of the NRA. Daniel enjoyed hunting and fishing and he was an avid outdoorsman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cecil Jacobs; grandchild, Jim E. Linsey; and great-grandchild, Connor Bruner.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Gloria Jacobs of Orange; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and David Lenz, Kathleen Cloud, Dana and Ray Hebert and Kelly Bates all of Orange; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Misti of Orange; and daughter, Katy Linsey of Ragley, Louisiana.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Courtney Bruner, Summer Lenz, Tara Cloud Arena, Kevin Cloud, Ryan Hebert, Jessica Hebert, Maggie Hebert, Jonathan Hebert, Jacob Bates, Ashley Jacobs, Danielle Jacobs, Erin Jacobs and Maci Jacobs; great-grandchildren, Parker Bruner, London Watkins, Leighton Watkins, Paisley Lenz, Makenzi Cloud, Tanner Cloud, Brooklyn Stokey and Braylon Stokey; brothers, Pete Jacobs and Irvin Jacobs; and sister, Margaret Sibley.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Ray Hebert, Ryan Hebert, Jonathan Hebert, Jacob Bates, Kevin Cloud and David Lenz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Guy Collins, Mance Neely and John Duos.
