David Kurt Bayreuther

1957 ∼ 2013

David Kurt Bayreuther, 56, of Houston was born January 23, 1957 in Valdosta, Georgia and died July 9, 2013 in Beaumont, Texas. David had a very short journey with liver cancer. He was staying with his sister during his last weeks along side with his daughter Lacey as his caregivers.

Prior to his illness David resided with his daughter and her fiancé Bryan and their daughter Madilynne in Houston, Texas.

David was a truck driver and U. S Air Force Veteran. He loved reading and writing poetry, and gardening.

He also had a special love for horses, helped train them and loved to see them race. He, and his niece’s daughter, Krysten, had a special bond because of horses

He enjoyed his job driving around the country in a big truck; he enjoyed life and always had a smile on his face even in the worse of times; he loved to talk with people and always made others feel good about themselves; he loved laughing a lot, telling jokes and stories.

The last 2 months of his life, two of his poems got published in the challenge magazine for truckers.

Besides writing poems; horses; cooking; fixing anything broke, telling stories and driving across this country...his love for his 4 children and grandchildren were his pride and joy.

David is survived by 4 children, Jimmy Dupree, Justin Bayreuther, Lacey Bayreuther and Nathan Bayreuther; 7 grandchildren, Hunter Dupree, Zoe Bayreuther, Ava Bayreuther, Zaleigh Babineaux and Madilynne Agan, Zaiden Baureuther and Joslynn Bayreuther; brother, J.T. Carnell; sisters, Cindy Conger Harper and Belinda Bayreuther Breaux.

David is also survived by Mike Gibbons, a longtime family friend.

Preceding him in death were his mom Laura Hazel Jones; and grandparents R.C. & Juanita Jones

Many thanks to Texas Home Health Hospice for their wonderful care to David and his family.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at the home of Robert and Belinda Breaux with burial at a later date in Vicker’s Cemetery in Nashville, Georgia.

One of my favorite memories of David is of us being in a car together with Lacey and listening to "Sad Eyes" by Robert John. He turned around in his seat and said, "Man, Veronica! You're taking me back. I love this kind of music." That's generally how David always was; sociable, cheerful, and funny. He always had ideas and plans and I will miss listening to his incredible stories. He always offered help with no expectation of anything in return. He clearly adored his children and grandchildren and went out of his way to see that they were cared for. He was a wonderful person and I am glad that I got to know him while he was here.

May I offer my sincere condolences to you on the death of David. May your hearts find comfort in God's Word where it states: "He will swallow up death forever, and the Lord will wipe the tears from all faces." (Isaiah 25:8) May your loved one awaken to a world where there will be peace (John 5:28,29; Psalm 37:11), no sickness (Isaiah 33:24), and no more troubles (Revelation 21:4) throughout eternity (Psalm 37:29). May your hearts find comfort and hope in God’s Word, family, friends and good memories at this time. My deepest sympathy to you.
