David Clark Lewis

David Clark Lewis, 67, of Orange, passed away Sunday, November 28, 2010, at Baptist Orange Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be David Burkheimer of Community Church in Orange. A private burial will follow later at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home in Orange.

Born in Junction, Texas on September 29, 1943, David was the son of Richard and Emilie Gerhart Lewis. He was an active member of Community Church and a member of The Gideons International. He was an Eagle Scout and a former outpost commander in the Royal Rangers, and also a Board Member of Orange Christian Services. David was a Ham Radio Operator, call sign K5UAH.

Preceded in death by his parents, David is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Miranda Lewis, and Brian and Rebecca Lewis; 3 grandchildren; sister, Kathy Lewis; and 2 nephews.

I enjoyed David's presence in Royal Rangers with me for many years. He was very committed in helping young men/boys to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. David had a good heart and was a good man.
