Debby Mason Mary

February 13, 1950 – January 25, 2026

Debby Mason Mary, 75, of Beaumont, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on January 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Born on February 13, 1950, in Beaumont, Texas, to Glenn and Paula Mason, Debby grew up in her hometown and graduated from Forest Park High School. An adventurous and athletic spirit from a young age, she loved playing sports, riding horses and was even a member of a Galveston surf team. She later met the love of her life, James (Jim) Mary, and the two married in 1970, recently celebrating 55 cherished years together.

Debby was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Jim Mary; her daughter, Julie Mary Anderson, and son-in-law, Mark Anderson, of Fort Worth, Texas; and her beloved granddaughters, Mary Ellen (Ellie) Anderson and Kathryn Grace (Katie) Anderson. She is also survived by her brother, Carey Mason; sister, Paula Mason Meriwether; Aunt Pam Mauk; and several nieces and nephews who adored her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Paula Mason, and her sister, Jamie Mason Davenport.

Debby lived life fully and with infectious enthusiasm. She played on various tennis teams throughout her adult years, embracing competition and camaraderie. She cherished traveling with her family, especially to tropical destinations where she delighted in scuba diving

amid the stunning Caribbean waters. At home, she could always be found hosting lively supper clubs with friends, creating memorable family holidays, or winning (or playfully trash-talking) at her weekly card games. A natural leader, Debby took charge of any situation with grace, determination, and a larger-than-life personality that drew people to her. Her competitive spirit was matched only by her warmth, generosity, and deep love for those around her.

Debby also had a tender heart for animals and was a longtime supporter of local efforts to help them.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 13th at 11:00am at LaBrie Claybar in Beaumont, Texas. a visiation will will be held prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2026, at LaBrie Claybar in Beaumont. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas (often referred to locally as HSSET), in honor of Debby's love for animals. Donations can be made online at humanesocietyofsoutheasttexas.org or by mail to their Beaumont location.

Debby’s light, laughter, and adventurous soul will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, strength, and unbreakable family bonds.
