Dennis L. Benoit

Dennis L. Benoit, 92, of Bridge City, Texas, died Friday, October 22, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2010, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Steve Leger of St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Chris Mouton, Deacon and grandson-in-law.

Dennis was born August 6, 1918, to Elix and Ovilia Baudoin Benoit in Youngsville, LA. He married Eula Mae Duhon Benoit on December 7, 1941. Together they moved to Texas in 1943 where he began his career as a storehouseman with "The Gulf Refinery" in Port Arthur, until he retired in 1979.

He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3406.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Eula Mae Benoit of Bridge City; sons, Calvin Benoit, and Ted Benoit, both of Bridge City; six grandchildren, Theresa Benoit Mouton of Abbeyville, LA, Todd Benoit of Orange, Kristi Benoit Brown of Colorado, Daron Benoit of Bridge City, Heather and Brent Benoit of The Woodlands; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

He is also survived by his brother, John Benoit of Lafayette; and sisters, Laon Benoit LeBlanc of Lake Charles, and Rose Benoit Cormier of Kaplan. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Kenneth T. Benoit.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Calvin Benoit, Todd Benoit, Brent Benoit, Daron Benoit, Keat Chiasson, and Tyler Ibeck.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Dennis. The family is in OUR hearts and prayers on this sad day and the days to come.
