Dewey Wayne Ellis

Dewey Wayne Ellis, 55, of Brookeland, Texas passed away Saturday, June 16, 2007.

He was born in Leesville, Louisiana, April 20, 1952 to Dewey H. and Helen M. Rose Ellis.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Monday at 1:00 p.m. and continue on Tuesday at the funeral home.

He retired from the Jefferson County Sheriff?s Department as a detective. He also served in the United States Navy. After retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and watching cartoons.

Surviving him are sisters, Connie Savant of Jasper and Shannon Burton of Lumberton; brothers, Lew Ellis of South Carolina and Kip Ellis of Nederland and several nieces and nephews and close family members.

Preceding Mr. Ellis in death are his parents; brother, Keith Ellis and sister, Sonja Ellis.
