It is with profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Son, Brother, and friend Dillon McAbee.
Dillon Garrett McAbee 31 of Lumberton, Texas passed away July 4, 2026, in Liberty Hill, Texas
Dillon was born in Oklahoma City on November 5, 1994, and was born to the parents of James Bubba Ainsworth, Laurie Ainsworth Slawson, James Garrett McAbee, and Charlene Deslatte. Dillon was the kind of person who made an impression wherever he went. He had a generous heart, a quick wit, and a way of making people laugh even during life’s hardest moments. He loved deeply and fiercely, and those fortunate enough to know him, experienced loyalty and kindness that never wavered.
Dillon loved his family. He was a devoted husband to Sydney and a proud father to his son Kaden whose greatest joy was spending time with him. He was an amazing son to his parents. Whether he was sharing a laugh, offering a helping hand, or simply being present, Dillon’s love for his family was evident in everything he did. He loved spending time fishing, hunting, playing golf, spending time at the creek and on the water with all his family and friends. He will be remembered for his strength; resilience and the countless memories he created with the people he loved. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that love does not end in death as his spirt will live on through us, our stories, the lessons he taught us, and the love he leaves behind.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sydney McAbee, his cherished son Kaden McAbee. His mother Laurie Ainsworth Slawson, his Dad James Bubba Ainsworth, his Father James Garrett McAbee, his wife Charlene Deslatte, his father-in-law Kevin Emmons, his mother-in-law Deea Emmons, his Brother’s Dalton McAbee and son Kyler Prince McAbee, Dustin McAbee and wife Jessica McAbee, Deuce McAbee and Stepbrother Lakin Schneider. Grandparents Jim and Janis Baker, Jim McAbee, Mark and Kelly Slawson. Grandparent-in-law’s Tom and Donna Shaffer and Claire Emmons. His Uncle James Baker and wife Meagan Baker, son Matt and daughter Addilyn, his Aunt Deena Stancil and husband Jimmy Stancil, son Seth Slawson, daughter Autumn Hudson, and daughter Gretchen Whaley, His Aunt Melissa Ainsworth Prince, daughter’s Brailey Prince and Brisais Prince.His Aunt Jiam Brinkley, son Tyler Brinkley, His Uncle Matt McAbee, son’s Cole and Chance McAbee. His Aunt Katy Slawson and his Uncle Kent Slawson. Uncle David Ainsworth and wife Sharon. Many other Aunts, Uncles and Cousins that he loved and cherished.
Preceded in Death by his Grandparents C.M. and Ruby Knight, Debbie McAbee, James Franklin Ainsworth Sr., and LaVerne Ainsworth, and His Uncle Bryan Ainsworth.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Funeral Services will be July 10, 2026, at LaBrie Claybar Funeral Services, 1155 N. 11th St Beaumont, Texas 77702, Officiating will be Pastor Sam Walker of Beamont, Texas.Burial will follow at Ferrell Cemetery 200 3770 Colmesneil, Texas 75938
Visitation will be from 6-9, July 9, 2026, at LaBrie Claybar Funeral Services, 1155 N. 11th St. Beaumont, Texas 77702.
Following the graveside service, at 4 pm, there will be a Celebration of Life at Bubba Ainsworth’s creek house, 10805 Village Creek Rd. Silsbee, Texas 77656, with food and live entertainment.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dalton McAbee, Dustin McAbee, Gary McAbee, Denver Dugas, Trey McCarty, Bruce White, Trevor Gunn, and Bryan Curtis. Honorary pallbearers are James Baker, Matthew Weaver, and Waylon Nelson.
