Dixie Lee Dupuy Trahan

Dixie Lee Dupuy Trahan, 71, of Orange, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at her home in Orange.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Faith United Methodist Church in Orange. Officiating will be Pastor Tony Hoefner of Faith United Methodist Church in Orange. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange Texas.

Visitation will be from 5-8pm, Saturday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Beaumont, Texas, on October 27, 1940, Dixie was the daughter of Roy and Wilma "Anderson" Wade. She was a Class of 1959, Graduate of South Park High School in Beaumont, Texas. Dixie was the Manager and Co-owner of Dupuy Travel and Tours of Orange. She was a past President of the Orange Rotary Club, she received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award, a member of the Women's Golf Association at Sunset Grove Country Club, and a volunteer for the Red Cross at Baptist Hospital in Orange, where she was a chair person for the Friday afternoon shift. Dixie played many roles at Faith United Methodist Church, she was Treasurer, a member of the choir, helped out with Faith Kidz and Kidz Adventure Camp.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years Joe Dupuy, husband of 15 years Clarence "Junior" Trahan, brother Roy E. Wade, Jr., and niece Tammy Wade.

Dixie is survived by her daughter, Melissa Dupuy of Orange; son, Joey Dupuy and wife, Wendy of Orange; grandchildren, Chris Bouley and wife, Brandi, Amber Dye and husband, Drew, Carlee Dupuy; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Kilea; step-daughter, Sharla Marshall and husband, Glen, Tanya Goldbeck, Zona Trahan; step-son, John Trahan; five step grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Drew Dye, Chris Bouley, John Trahan, Marty Goldbeck, Gene Boullion, and Jerry Roy. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Milazzo, Dewey Woods and the Faith United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, in memory of Dixie Trahan.
