Donnie Wynne Wolfford passed May 31st, 2009 at age 68, surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange. Officiating will be Brother Jeff Bell of Calvary Baptist Church in Port Acres, TX. Burial will follow at Hillcrest

Cemetery in Orange, TX.

Visitation for family will be from 5:00-6:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. for friends Tuesday, at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Christine Abrego Wolfford; son and daughter-in-law, Derek Wolfford and Kelley Norris of Nashville, TN; son, Patrick Wolfford of Orange, TX; and grandson, Hunter Cole Wolfford; brothers, Darrell Wolfford and Tommy Wolfford of Orange, TX; and brother Carlton Wolfford of Vidor, TX.

Mr. Wolfford was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Ruby Burch Wolfford; brother Delton Ray Wolfford; and sister, Mary Wolfford Henry.

Donnie was born in Orange, TX on November 3rd, 1940 and lived a very full life; always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that was in need. He was a member of Cove Baptist Church and was part of its original construction as a teenager. He worked for Levingston Ship Building for 19 years and retired from Houston Ship Repair in 2003. In retirement, he enjoyed fixing things around his and everyone else's home, entertaining with stories about his youth, and spending time with his fishing buddy, grandson Hunter Cole Wolfford, who was his pride and joy.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Darrell L. Wolfford, Dennis Wolfford, Michael Wolfford, Bobby Wolfford, David Abrego, and Vince Abrego. Honorary Pallbearer will be Robert Smith.

His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to The Cove Baptist Church Rebuilding Fund.

Ever since I was a little girl Uncle Donnie has always been my #1 uncle, and as I think of him today I remember how he loved all of the children in the family and never raised his voice at any of us.
