Doris Christian

Doris Christian, 79, of Houston, passed away Monday, July 7, 2008.

Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Mauriceville. Johnny Brady, pastor of Fellowship of the Nations and Reverend Kevin Brown, pastor of First Baptist Church of Mauriceville will officiate. Interment will follow at Kirbyville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 p.m. Friday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Doris was born in Mauriceville, TX on August 9, 1928 to Grady Prentis and Silsbee Ora Warrell Tillery. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mauriceville and retired from Channelview ISD after 25 years. Doris also attended Fellowship of the Nations in Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband B.F. "Bo" Christian and sister, Mildred Pineda.

Doris is survived by her children, Dianne McGee of Houston, Tillery McGee and wife Lori also of Houston, Gary Christian andwife Nancy of Huntsville and Theresa Ellis and husband Howard Ellis of Coppell, TX. Also surviving Doris are nine grandchildren and nephews, Rick Pineda and Steve Pineda.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Burton, Johnny Ray Smith, Steve Pineda, Rick Pineda, Brandon McGee and Colt Christian. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Perry and A.J. Brown.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Mauriceville Building Fund.
