Doris Folsom Jernigan

Doris Folsom Jernigan, 87, of Bridge City, died Sunday, June 14, 2009, in her home.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ in Shelby County, Texas.

Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Shelby County, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5:00-9:00 pm, Wednesday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Doris was born on October 23, 1921, in Center, Texas. She was the daughter of Nathan John B. Folsom and Sallie Ellen Smith Folsom.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roby Calvin Jernigan; and sons, Guy Allen Jernigan and Rocky Dale Jernigan.

Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Ruth Bond and her husband Jimmy of Vidor; son, Roby Spencer Jernigan and his wife Myrna of Garrison; sisters, Stella B. Cobb of Houston and Arbell Reynolds of Frierson, Louisiana. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren.
