Dorothy Foyle

Dorothy "Dot" Foyle, 66, of Orange, died Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2009, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange, with the Reverend Harold Nazworth, officiating.

Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.

Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Born in Orange on April 12, 1943, Dot was the daughter of Violet and E.W. "Blackie" Spell. She was a nurse and a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, shopping and cards.

Dot was preceded in death by her parents, E.W. "Blackie" and Violet Spell; brother-in-law, Norvin Matthis and mother-in-law, John E. Foyle.

She is survived by her husband, James Foyle; son and daughter-in-law, Donny and Tammra Mayo; daughter and son-in-law, Kimm and Buddy Benson.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, Brittni and Milton Briggs, Heather and Tim Franks, Alyssa Mayo, Garrett Romero, Kelsey Tapp, Brandon Tapp, Kassidy Hunter, Keaton Hill, Slade and Ashley Benson; great grandchildren, Emma and Kessler Briggs and Layden Webb; sisters, Carolyn Sue Colburn and Margaret Matthis.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Tapp, Keaton Hill, Milton Briggs, Jim Thomas, Gerald Jones and Tim Franks.

Honorary pallbearers will be Garrett Romero, Slade Benson, Layden Webb and Kessler Briggs.

Jim, Oh my goodness..We were so saddened to learn of Dot's passing. She was such a joy to be with, we had some great times!!
