Dorothy Ann Watkins, 69, was born September 28, 1944 in Detroit, MI to Grover and Vernel Crawford Cordell and passed away January 11, 2014 in Beaumont, TX. She was a long time resident of the Beaumont area and worked as a provider with A I Agency (Home Health).

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Watkins is survived by her son, Brian Apfel and wife, Tina; granddaughter, Ashley Trahan and husband, John; grandson, Josh Apfel; her brother, Roger Lourde and wife, Judy, her sister, Chris Hoover and husband, Darrell and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Watkins.

To the family and friends of Dorothy Watkins, I extend my condolence. I did not know Dorothy, but I do know the emotional pain and emptiness that one experiences during a time like this. Take comfort from the scriptures in knowing that there will be a resurrection of all those in the grave. (John 5:28,29) That includes Dorothy.
