Dwight Louis Shaddock

Dwight Louis "Shad" Shaddock, 72, of Orange, died November 14, 2009 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, at Newton City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Dwight was born on March 27, 1937 in Holly Springs, Arkansas. He is the son of Henry and Eula Mae Harper Shaddock. Dwight graduated from Newton High School in 1955. After graduation he entered the U.S. Navy, where he served from 1955 to 1959, and then later retired from DuPont after 35 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dolphus Shaddock ; and sister, Emorene Shaddock Miller.

He is survived by his son, Richard W. Shaddock of San Antonio; grandchild, Devyn Le Shaddock of San Antonio; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn and Herman Autrey of Orange and Judy and Keve Blacksher of Newton; and five nieces and seven nephews.

Mr. Dwight always had a story tell! When he found out my dad worked with him at Dupont he shared many stories of work. What a GREAT laugh he had :. I often use a "Dwightism" he shared with me after IKE..he said Now Gina "It is what is!" and how true Lif##imported-begin##Gina Simar##imported-end##

Dwight will be truly missed. He was someone you could always count on to smile and ask how you were doing. One of my favorite replies he gave when asked his opinion was "I Like What I am Seeing" followed by a grin! My condolences go out to his family.##imported-begin##Tammy Dietze##imported-end##
