Edgar Allen "Jake" Chambers

1954 ∼ 2025

Edgar Allen “Jake” Chambers, 71, of Beaumont, Texas passed away peacefully Saturday, June 14, 2025. He was born February 1, 1954.

Jake was preceded in death by his son, Jacob Chambers. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cindy Chambers; daughter, Laci Fasulo and husband, Travis; son, Russ Chambers; and grandchildren, Abby Fasulo and Duke Fasulo.

Jake was an electrician by trade and had many close friendships that he treasured during his career. Just about anywhere he went, he’d run into somebody he knew. Jake LOVED his family. Over the years, he enjoyed coaching his children, along with many others, and talked often about those softball/baseball days with his kids. He had a deep appreciation for and connection with nature, he loved a good fishing trip and vacations with his family at the lake and beach were his favorite. His grandkids brought a smile to his face every time they walked in a room, and they always smiled right back at Grandpa. He had a knack at finding four leaf clovers, “pushing the tree,” and we will all miss his humor and quick wit so much.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 p.m. at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kelsey and the entire Gentiva Hospice team for their love and care over the past couple of months.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Jake. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this incredibly difficult time. I know the pain of losing someone so dear, and my thoughts are with you as you navigate the days ahead. Hicks thought so much of Jake. I know the two of them are catching up on old times they experienced. May the memories you shared bring comfort, and may you find strength in the love that surrounds you.

Jake was the sole offspring of a mixed marriage. Both his mother and his father brought children into the union, and the whole family doted on him. His half brothers, and I picked on him as kids do, but everyone loved him. He always accused us of using him as a guinea pig(crash dummy) whenever we older boys needed to test our latest experimental downhill vehicle. It was a fun time growing up with Jake, or Buster, as Vivian calls him, he will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Buster's passing. Buster, his older brothers and his parents were our next door neighbors when were kids. Those were fun times, playing ball in our back yard, running and playing in the "hills" as we used to call them. I will always remember Buster for his kindness in occasionally playing "tea party" with me and my tea set when we were kids. I have fond memories of Buster, his older brothers, and his parents then and as family. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I first met my little brother the day he came home from the hospital. He was wrapped up nice and cozy. He didn’t go by the name of Jake back then, but he soon picked up the name of Buster. To us older brothers, he was affectionately referred to as Bubba. As the years passed and we all grew up, “Jake” took. Jake loved writing. I don’t think he truly knew how good he was at that particular craft. One of my favorite stories was the night he and friend witnessed a UFO over the skies of southeast Texas. He could’ve been pulling our legs, but I don’t think so. One thing about Jake’s writings, I enjoyed them so very much more than Edgar Allen Poe’s. Take your rest Bubba. ❤️
