Edgar Leeroy Oliver

Edgar Leeroy Oliver, 87, of Lumberton, passed away on February 13, 2020, at his home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 16, 2020, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont. Officiating will be Jason Mitchell. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service, at Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.

Born in Steep Creek, Texas, on April 22, 1932, he was the son of Edgar Oliver and Erbie Gray (Pauline) Oliver. Leeroy served bravely in the U.S. Air Force. He was an avid gardener, and owned and operated a flea market in Lumberton, Texas. Leeroy was a loving husband, a wonderful father, and an exuberant grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Erbie Oliver; son, Baby Boy Oliver; brothers, John Irvin Oliver, and Cecil Frank Oliver; and granddaughter, Wendy Oliver.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Charlene Oliver; daughters, Debbie Oliver Lee and husband Kevin of Silsbee, and Linda Oliver of Katy; sons, Bruce Oliver of Vidor, Marvin Oliver and wife Lindy of Center, and Stanley Oliver of Kountze; and sister, Dorothy Dodson of Silsbee; along with numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Stanley Oliver, Marvin Oliver, Bruce Oliver, and Kevin Lee.

I'd like to start out by,I am Edgar Leroy Oliver's grandson.i currently stay in Colorado,but I have to say that I have plenty of memories of me and him I remember when he would take me fishing when I was a lil boy,chase me when I would get in his rock pile and throw his rocks everywhere,he is the greatest man I know and I wish I could of spent more time with him then I was able to...he was is always will be the greatest grandpa in the world,father,husband,I just wish you hadn't of gone so soon,when you left it took a good chunk out of my heart that will never heal,I love you so much paw paw Weavle...I will always be your Beau Weavle ,your who gave me the name as a lil boy ,want you to know you have no clue how much you truly mean to me just wish I'd showed it more but I look to hear you call my name like you do,bo bo or Beau Weavle.i know your planting the most beauitiful garden ever up there,I love you PawPaw Weavle forever your on my heart.....your grandson Beau Weavle I need youiss you badly.
