As her former Pastor I spent a lot of time with Edna. Many a night she would call me in from Nederland to come pick her up in Beaumont to take her to the hospital. I'd always go get her taking her to the hospital generally spending the night there with her or until they admitted or discharged her. We used to pick her up for church nearly every Sunday and she made some of the sweetest best Mayhaw Jelly you could ever put on toast or a buttermilk Biscuit. She was a sweetheart. Every once in a while she'd call me to come see her telling me she had something for me. I'd go over to her trailer and visit with her for a little while and then she'd slowly reach in her big ole black purse and pull out a five dollar bill and tell me that God had laid it on her heart to give it to me. How precious. She called me often because I think she liked the attention and I was more than happy to give it to her. I'll never forget Sister Cogburn! She now dances the dance of the righteous! I love you Sister Cogburn. Rev. Randy Trotter
