Eileen Blanche Goodman, in her 89th year, went to be with the Lord Jesus on the 9th of February, 2009, in League City, Texas. She now rejoices and beholds the face of her Savior, never again to know sorrow, or pain, or tears. She battled Alzheimer's; now she has won the battle: the Alzheimer's is dead and she is alive forever.

She was born to Elizabeth and Morgan Mack in Cashion, Oklahoma on the 28th of June, 1919. She migrated to California while still a young child. In 1941 she married Ernest Coy Goodman of Orange, and thereafter spent most of her life in Texas. After the death of her husband in 1962, she resided with her son Lawrence. She was an avid reader and loved to crochet for her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing the piano. She was a faithful follower of Christ.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Lawrence Douglas Goodman, her daughter Betty Loene Tadlock and her son-in-law David Tadlock of League City; her grandson Bradley Scott Tadlock of Pearland; her granddaughter Bethany Christine and husband J. Michael Woodard and their daughter Ariana, all of Pearland; and her brother Roy Mack of Buena Park, California. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews of the J.E. Hodge family of Texas and Kit Mack of California. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Those who knew her were always touched by her sweet smile. Now deprived of her for a time, we miss her, and we do grieve; but we do "not grieve as others do who have no hope" 1 Thessalonians 4:13. We know we will see her again.

A visitation will be 11-11:45 a.m. Saturday, the 14th of February, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Graveside services and interment will follow at noon at Harris Cemetery in West Orange, Texas.
