Elaine Reed Jacobs

Elaine Reed Jacobs, 82, of Bridge City, died Friday, June 13, 2008 in Houston.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Reverend Delbert Milstead of Centeral Baptist Church in Buna.

Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Monday, at Claybar Funeral Home.

Elaine was born on November 15, 1925, in Rochester, NY. She was the daughter of Raymond and Elsie Sadler Reed. Mrs. Jacobs worked at American Bridge for 11 years as the President's personal secretary. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Bridge City and worked at the Orange Chamber of Commerce.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Jacobs;brothers, Robert Reed, Regonald Reed, and Donald Reed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Jacobs and Janet of Bridge City and Michael Jacobs and Cheryl of Buna; grandchildren, Benjamin Jacobs, Alison Jacobs, Bradley Jacobs, Adam Jacobs, Christal Huff, Jennifer Jacobs, Angela Jacobs, Jessica Whitmire, T.J. Jacobs, Dustin Bock, and Bryan Bock; great-grandchildren, Emily Jacobs, Alyssah Cunningham, Wesley Huff, Lane Whitmire, and Layton Williams; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas Reed and Theda and James Reed and Doris.

Serving as pallbearers are T.J. Jacobs, Jonathan Whitmire, Dustin Bock, and Bryan Bock.

Honorary pallbearers are James Reed and Walter Olson.
