Elaine C. Townes, 78, of Bridge City, died August 27, 2009, at Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Bridge City, with Reverend Bob Boone, officiating.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 p.m. Saturday, at the Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Port Arthur on November 6, 1930, she was the daughter of Henry Campbell and Vitah O'Neal Campbell. Elaine was a member of First Baptist Church in Bridge City, and former owner of Elaine's Floral Shop in Bridge City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Townes; and sister, Mary Corley.

She is survived by her sons, Ted Townes of Bridge City and David Townes of Norfolk, Virginia; and four grandchildren, Tyler Townes, Chad Townes, Brad Townes and Tara Townes.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Brad Townes, Tyler Townes, Ed Johansson, Neil Gondran, Alan Johansson, David Dorsey and Chris Townes.
