Elmo Carson Spivey

Elmo Carson Spivey, of Bridge City, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at his residence.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Fellowship Church of Christ in Orange. Tommy Gore will officiate. Interment will follow at Lee Cemetery in Vinton, LA. Services under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday at the church.

Elmo was born January 9, 1922, in Port Arthur to Wesley and Ara Pearl Bryan Spivey.

Elmo served in the US Army during WWII. He worked as an operator for Texaco Refinery. Elmo enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Winona Spivey, parents, Wesley and Ara Spivey and brother Wilburn Spivey.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Passmore and husband James of Athens, Texas, Rhonda Glena of Athens, Texas and Denise Vickers and husband Mike of Bridge City;

grandchildren and their spouses, Stephen Passmore and Emily, John Passmore and Shannon, Amber Vickers, Kristal Vickers, Reneï??ï?? Glena; great grandchildren, Ashley Passmore and Ruthie Passmore and sister Dorothy Brown.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Passmore, Stephen Passmore, John Passmore, Mike Vickers, James Truncale and Cullin Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Warren Griffin, Arnold Vickers and the Elders of Fellowship Church of Christ.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Elmo's caregivers, Enza Craven, Cassandra "Cassie" Sonnier, Renae Turner, Gladys "MaeMae" Tyler and the staff at Harbor Hospice.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Church of Christ Building Fund, 3800 MLK Dr., Orange, TX, 77632.
