Essie E. Nusom, 84, of Beaumont, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at her home. A gathering of friends and family will be held Thursday, September 15, from 5:30 ? 7:30 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 16th at 10:00 in the chapel of Claybar Funeral Home with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Surviving Essie are her husband of 67 years, Ward Nusom; daughters, Janis Kelly and her husband Duane, Peggy Fontenot and her husband George, Judy Crocker and her husband Johnie; son, Buddy Nusom and his wife, Kay; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents, son, Glen Nusom; grandsons Vance Watkins and Christopher Nusom and great-granddaughter, Heather Bertand.

We were sad to hear about Essie. She was unique. I enjoyed the time I had to worship with Essie & Ward at West End Baptist and to sit together and enjoy fellowship and great meals at monthly pot luck.
